Absolutely wonderful! We loved staying here. Everything went as planned, Miho was a delightful hostess and the machiya was everything we needed. My husband and I stayed eleven nights and feel as though we really got to know Kyoto very well. We both thoroughly recommend this rental and would go back again ... and again ... and again.

This was a wonderful house in which to stay. It was very well located (convenient to local transportation and the best shopping), beautifully renovated, a fine blend of the traditional and the comfortable, and the owner's relative was available to help out if needed. It is in a real neighborhood (a charming alley) and convenient to local buses and near everything else you would want to see in Kyoto.
The house was clean and well furnished with staples (like tea and coffee) to make it easy to settle in. Of course it is in a safe area too. We really loved our stay at the machiya.
