"A poetic stay"
This lovely machiya sits on a quiet narrow cobblestone alley that is reminiscent of "The Old Capital" by Ysunari Kawabata (Nobel Prize in Literature, 1968). The machiya is located in the Nakagyo Ward of Kyoto -- the site of Kawabata's novel. It evokes similar images of old Kyoto. We stayed here for one month and were pleased with the house, the little garden, the location, and its proximity within walking distance to temples, shrines, museums, shops, and galleries.
