We all had a fantastic time in Kyoto and in your house and it definitely wasn't long enough. The house was perfect. It had everything we needed and perfect for a family with plenty of room for the children. At the end of the trip I asked the children "What was the highlight of Kyoto?" and they both said the Machiya house. So it was more popular than Nara, Himeji Castle and all the temples around Kyoto. A highlight for myself was getting on the bicycle in the evening and exploring all the streets in the area. It was always a welcoming site after a long day looking at all the sites around the area and we always looked forward getting back to the house.
We are now in Canada for 3 months continuing our travels. We are at Whistler for 2 months and then a bit of touring around.
We will definitely recommend your Machiya to others. Thank you for providing a great house for an unforgettable holiday.
